The Rural Bank of Calbayog City, Inc. (RBCCI), the only rural bank on Samar Island, has partnered with the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) under the Department of Agriculture to empower local farmers and fisherfolk.
In 2023, RBCCI allocated ₱20 million from the interest-free ACPC-DA funding to assist marginalized agricultural workers across Samar. This initiative aims to promote sustainable farming and fishing practices, enhance productivity, and strengthen rural livelihoods.
Through this partnership, RBCCI provides training programs, technological assistance, and accessible credit to improve agricultural operations. To date, more than 150 beneficiaries engaged in rice production, livestock, and piggery have already benefited—contributing to the bank’s mission of fostering inclusive and resilient rural development.
As part of the Rural Bank of Calbayog City, Inc. (RBCCI) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its commitment to community development, the bank has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in implementing the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
Through this collaboration, RBCCI provides financial services and technical support to program beneficiaries, helping them establish and sustain their own livelihood enterprises. This initiative underscores the Bank’s advocacy for financial inclusion, poverty alleviation, and empowerment of underprivileged sectors, fostering self-sufficiency and long-term economic resilience.
In addition to its CSR initiatives, the Rural Bank of Calbayog City, Inc. (RBCCI) actively participates in job fairs organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Calbayog. This effort underscores the Bank’s commitment to creating employment opportunities, promoting financial literacy, and supporting local workforce development.
Through these job fairs, RBCCI not only provides information on career opportunities but also shares valuable insights on responsible banking and financial management. This initiative reflects the bank’s continuous dedication to fostering socio-economic growth and empowering the Calbayog community.
In line with its mission to promote rural and agricultural development, the Rural Bank of Calbayog City, Inc. (RBCCI) continues to reinforce its partnership with the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) through the AgriNegosyo (ANYO) Loan Program.
Building on its strong foundation in 2023, RBCCI expanded its funding allocation from ₱20 million to ₱25 million in 2024, focusing on small and medium-scale agricultural enterprises to create more impactful and sustainable rural growth. This initiative combines financial assistance and agricultural support, empowering farmers, fisherfolk, and agri-based micro and small enterprises to scale their operations through accessible, low-interest loans.
Beyond financial support, RBCCI conducts financial literacy sessions and provides hands-on guidance to ensure responsible loan utilization and the long-term success of agricultural ventures.
Through these continued efforts, RBCCI remains steadfast in its advocacy for food security, inclusive growth, and rural economic resilience, marking 2024 as a significant milestone in the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) journey—transforming agricultural lives and strengthening the backbone of Samar’s rural economy.
